Variable platy

Variable platies is wonderful fish for small planted aquariums and they are a excellent option for community aquarium. Variable platies available in vibrant color and in different patterns. When compared to other platy variable platy requires more care and planted tank is must to keep them in top condition. They are sensitive to water parameter so care should be taken while introducing them to new environment or new water condition. Like other platy types they will not hurt your goldfish like molly fish. Like other live bearers breeding is very easy, if you have enough floating plants and you are feeding your adult platies properly; you can save your platy fry in same tank itself. They are not so aggressive towards their young ones. Platies live for 2 – 3 years if cared properly. It is better to have more females, likely 2 to 3 females for every male.
